It Starts with Us – Why Enneagram?

If you know me well, you know that I am a huge advocate for this Emotional Intelligence (EQ) tool and assessment – Enneagram. This assessment gives us information on ourselves that will help us become self aware of how we got here and why we are the way we are (not to say we can’t improve). I’ve taken various EQ assessments and in my opinion, the Enneagram made it easier for me to set goals for my own growth.

The thing is, when we start with us first, when we are self aware, we can better understand how we react to other personalities and understand how to best interact with them. After all, we can only control our actions/reactions when interacting with others. So why not use it to our advantage?

I use Enneagram in a personal and professional environment and I’ve seen firsthand the benefits. So many conflicts, frustrations, and assumptions come from COMMUNICATION, or lack thereof to be honest. Whether that be clarity, tone, timing, delivery, approach…it all ties back to communication and the Enneagram is a great way to foster healthy communication.

There are many EQ tools out there which all serve their own purpose and resonate with various teams and situations. I will use those when necessary but I like to start with Enneagram to help individuals and teams know one another on a more personal level, after all, we spend more time with our work families than our home families. We live in a “what’s in it for me” kind of world and I think it’s okay to put ourselves first to learn and grow so that it will in turn, benefit those around us.

If you’d like to take the Enneagram Personality Assessment, you can contact me for a test code and to setup a 30-minute results session. In the results session, I’ll review your Enneagram report with you, explain the basics and help you navigate towards setting growth goals.

Why I’m Here

Hey! I’m Meaghan. I’m glad you’re here – I take that to mean you are ready to live your life unapologetically YOU, just like I am working to do.

I consider myself a recovering perfectionist. My whole life I’ve thought I needed to be perfect to feel validated – for people to like me, to make the next career move, to turn in a perfect assignment, to be a perfect wife, perfect mom, perfect daughter…the list goes on. Quite possibly most of all, to have everything in perfect working order before taking any real action on big dreams I have. What I’ve grown to know and trust over the last few years is that by God’s grace, I am not called to be perfect. Perfect is not possible. As crazy as it sounds, perfect is never coming. Little by little, I’m overcoming those perfectionist tendencies.

What hasn’t changed is my desire to help others. I’ve always had a heart to serve (I get it from my Mama!) and so this is where coaching allows me to support others while holding healthy boundaries. To me, coaching is God-calling, fulfilling, inspiring, and motivating! So, here I am…taking action now instead of waiting for everything to line up perfectly because we both know that won’t happen.

Now I want to support you in taking action in your own life and live authentically who you are meant to be!

Let’s Goooo!!

About Me

I was born and raised in a small town outside of Orlando, Florida. I still live nearby with my husband of 12 years, Hampton, and our two daughters, Harper Mae (8) and Avery Ann (5). Our family hobbies include listening to a variety of music, spending time with friends, watching movies, going on golf cart rides around the neighborhood, going to church, hanging out at the pool, and weekly trips to Waffle House to see our most kind friend and waitress, Miss Missy! We are also dedicated Georgia Bulldog football fans! Go Dawgs!

In 2022, I became a Co-Active Certified Professional Coach to help others in this journey we call life. Though I had been coaching others prior to that, I felt being certified enhanced my coaching skillset. I currently coach externally through my business, Meaghan Scott Coaching, LLC. and internally at a global organization where I have a career in Talent Development that I love! My role in a nutshell means I’m dedicated to helping our employees grow in their careers and advocate for them however I can. Whether it be facilitate high-performing team sessions, lead training classes or have 1:1 connections, I am always working towards helping others show up as the best version of themselves. This is something that comes naturally as I’ve always been a “helper” and “nurturer.” The only difference is that in the past, I helped others so much that I sacrificed my own health and well-being; now I’m able to help and motivate others in a more professional manner with healthy boundaries for myself. It’s a win win! This passion of mine (and what I call my God-given gift) is what uniquely brought me to professional coaching.

What are my coaching niches? We all have our own experiences, tools, and expertise in specific areas. I started off with general life (mindset) coaching and recently have made the decision to focus on supporting those that are looking for financial freedom or are in the midst of parenting a neurodivergent child(ren). Both are near and dear to my heart.

Why? I have experience and testimony with both of these areas. First, Hampton and I are passionate about living financially (debt) free and planning for our future. In 2017, Harper was just a baby and we were able to pay off over $70k of debt in less than 18 months. Yes, it was hard but it was worth it and change our mindset on money and freedom! There is more to this testimony that I share with my clients to understand our mindset around money. My other niche is special because our Avery was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Harper with ADHD. As parents we realized we have to parent differently. Thank God for parent coaching through ABA therapy that gave us the tools to do this! Our lives have changed so much and I’ve learned a lot and so much of the parent coaching received can be applied to anyone, adults and children! I want to share what I’ve learned with you.
